Erich Bergen knew at age 10, when he saw his first Broadway performance, that he wanted to perform in a big Broadway musical one day. His day arrived on June 5, 2018, when he joined the cast of Waitress. He will be performing in the role of Dr. Pomatter opposite Katherine McPhee through August 12th.
Growing up, Erich attended Stagedoor Manor, a theater camp in upstate New York, each summer. Every summer he had the opportunity to play his favorite roles and dream of doing the same as an adult. He has certainly moved forward obtaining his dreams!
Most recently Erich starred as Blake Moran on the hit television series, Madam Secretary, opposite Tia Leoni. This fall will be its fifth season on CBS, with past episodes already streaming on Netflix. He played in the musical film Clint Eastwood directed, Jersey Boys, after playing the role on stage for the National Tour and in Las Vegas.
Along with numerous roles previously in television and film, Erich is not only a gifted vocalist and actor, but also a talented musician. He has performed worldwide in groups from a jazz trio to a 60-piece orchestra. Additionally, Erich is very involved in promoting men’s health issues as he is a survivor of testicular cancer. Along with speaking out on this subject at every opportunity, he’s also devoted to promoting music education in public schools.
