THE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS – HIGHLIGHTS AND SURPRISES

Now in their 45th year, the American Music Awards are one of the most entertaining award shows in the country. It is a magical evening of performances and speeches. Ever since their founding by Dick Clark, the AMAs have honored music artists across a wide variety of genres. Unlike the Grammys – which are decided by an exclusive group of industry insiders – the AMAs represent a truly democratic approach to awards. Fans vote for their favorite singers, songs, and albums, leading to a more diverse group of winners.

This year, there were many incredible performances. Nick Jonas sang his hit “Find You.” Ever since the start of his solo career, Nick has been breaking ground and hopping genres with ease, and his performance at the AMAs was no different. Imagine Dragons played an electrifying mashup of “Thunder” and rapper Khalid’s “Young, Dumb, and Broke.” The mixture of styles was a risky, but the band and the rapper pulled it off. Imagine Dragons also won the award for Pop/Rock Group. It was the band’s third AMA, and Innovative Entertainment can’t wait to congratulate them again in the future. In other categories, Bruno Mars took home Artist of the Year, while Niall Horan received the New Artist award. Diana Ross – the legendary vocalist who began her career in The Supremes – was honored with a Lifetime Achievement award.

Innovative Entertainment books shows across the country for several of the brilliant artists featured at the AMAs. Our clients include production companies, performance venues, and corporate in-house planners. We provide our clients with the kind of talent they want, whether that’s a globetrotting pop star or a unique local band. For more information, check out our website.
