Most people aren’t aware that they can book private events at some of the most beautiful and historical locations in California. California Missions, including the ones in San Juan Capistrano, Santa Barbara, San Buenaventura, and Santa Ines, are popular travel destinations because of their charm, rich history, and religious significance. Locals, stateside dwellers, and international travelers of all different cultures and backgrounds appreciate the extraordinary symbolism and meaning behind these buildings. Each of these well-preserved landmarks was started in the 1700’s by Spanish Franciscans and all remain active Catholic parishes today.
Surprisingly, these beautiful locations are also available to rent out for special occasions. They’re the perfect place for people to enjoy their receptions, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and other social celebrations. Most of these missions even allow weddings on their premises, under certain conditions. Some of these missions, including the San Buenaventura Mission, offer catering for certain events, as well.
At Innovative Entertainment, we’ve had the pleasure to work with Mission San Juan Capistrano on several occasions. Most recently we were honored to bring in Tony and Grammy Award winner Heather Headley for their annual benefit gala, Romance of the Mission. Another sold out event of over 500 guests at the Ruins of the Great Stone Church. Great job to our Executive Producer, Peggy Jewell.

Regardless of religious or cultural background, the luxurious gardens and grounds that surround each mission, along with the grandeur of the buildings themselves, make for the perfect setting to gather close friends and colleagues together for an incredible and exclusive experience that they’ll never forget.
Proceeds from these private events go towards the preservation of each mission, so while you’re enjoying your special event, you’ll also be helping to preserve California’s history.
To find out more information on each of these charming venues, take a look at their websites or contact us for help with booking. We hope you enjoy this rich history that California has to offer.
