Celebrity Flashback: Who & Where We Were Then

When you’re moving forward at warp speed every day you have to remind yourself where you’ve been. We at Innovative Entertainment find that we don’t look back enough. With that thought in mind we’re running this celebrity flashback series so we can fondly reminisce about where we have been and who we were back then. Pointer Sisters

The Pointer Sisters are an American R&B singing group originating from Oakland, California. Their music has spanned more than four decades and their repertoire has included such diverse genres as pop, disco, jazz, electronic music, bebop, blues, soul, funk, dance, country and rock. The Pointer Sisters have won three Grammy Awards. The group had 13 US top 20 hits between 1973 and 1985.

In December 2016, Billboard magazine ranked them as the 80th most successful dance artists of all-time. In December 2017, Billboard magazine ranked them as the 93rd most successful Hot 100 Artist of all-time and as the 32nd most successful Hot 100 Women Artist of all-time.

In 1975 the group won a Grammy for “Fairytale” – Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. In 1985 they won for “Jump (For My Love)” – Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and also “Automatic” – Best Vocal Arrangement for Two or More Voices.
