Last week our team headed out to San Francisco City Hall for a mid-day break! It is rare that we all get to leave during office hours, but a celebration was necessary. Why? Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon, the longest-running musical review in history, was celebrating its 40th anniversary with a noontime performance at beautiful San Francisco City Hall. Originally Steve Silver thought the show would only run for six weeks. Forty years later it’s the place to be – an “only in San Francisco” experience! City Hall looked amazing, with the Rotunda adorned in red roses and drape and a full length red carpet running the entire grand stair case. It was a packed house with lines down the street and a reported 2,000 guests. The who’s who of San Francisco all gathered inside to watch the show; Mayor Ed Lee, Dede Wilsey, George and Charlotte Schultz, Michael Tilson Thomas, Willie Brown and the Gay Man’s Chorus all took to the stage with special appearances.
We were excited to be part of the celebration. If you have not seen Beach Blanket Babylon yet, it’s a MUST SEE. The show is also a great option for corporate and private functions. We are proud to have been their exclusive representative for over 23 years, and look forward to the next 40!
