Cameron Dettman

REGIONAL ENTERTAINMENT

This Santa Barbara-born singer moved to Las Vegas when he was 5 years old. Listening to the sounds of his parent’s generation, Cameron Dettman absorbed musical tastes from the eras of bell bottoms, floral patterns, wah pedals & an abundance of male falsetto. His eclectic musical influences make for a truly unique style all his own. Taking the smooth sounds of 70’s soul legends and magically combining them with modern pop sounds like Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars, Dettman creates a beautiful representation of “old school meets new school”. Cameron also mines from influences of classic rock, country & blues. Fresh off a single release and his audition on NBC’s The Voice, Cameron put the finishing touches on his debut EP. The EP combines modern pop, soul, funk, rock & alternative into 6 songs of his own creation. The EP was released in the spring of 2018.
Cameron’s musical career began during the glory days of early 2000’s pop-punk. This scene hit the Las Vegas venues by storm and Dettman dove right in with his first band Water Street. Although an amateur group, Water Street shared the stage with many acts who would become staples in the music industry such as The Cab & Meg & Dia. After a 3-year run, Water Street would eventually rebrand and evolve into the longstanding Vegas group Play For Keeps. PFK would create quite a buzz in Las Vegas, headlining venues like House of Blues & Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip. PFK would end up sharing the stage with major label acts like Imagine Dragons, Sick Puppies, Jack’s Mannequin, Sheppard, Relient K, Motion City Soundtrack, 3Oh3 & more. After 6 years of grinding, Play for Keeps, eventually, would disband.
Cameron would take time off performing to truly find his sound. Writing daily for a year, he experimented with many influences to finally create his special blend of funk, soul, blues, pop & country. He has since released his single “Change”, an upbeat declaration of individuality despite the pressures of society. Next, he released his latest single “So Much Time”, an old-school R&B song recorded with the same Nashville session players who share the stage with Olivia Newton-John. “So Much Time” is an introspective look into the unfortunate abundance of free time after a relationship ends tragically.
Soon after “So Much Time”, Cameron would be given the opportunity to audition for NBC’s The Voice. He was one of the top 80 contestants out of over 400,000 Americans who auditioned. After Upon returning to Las Vegas after The Voice, Cameron was playing a gig on the Las Vegas Strip and was seen performing by the GM of the Ritz-Carlton in Singapore. This serendipitous meeting led to a contract to perform a six-month residency in the Chihuly Lounge in Singapore. His evenings were spent in the Lounge performing for high-end world travelers and local Singapore live music lovers. This allowed him to spend most days writing and further perfecting his onstage persona.
Now in 2019, Cameron is set to release new music with a new perspective on life, love, and happiness.
